The place for discovering the intangible heritage of rural and ancestral Morocco

The House of Orality is a new cultural center opened in 2022 within the famous ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a magnificent village near Ouarzazate, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the beauty of its architecture.

The House of Orality is dedicated to the preservation and valorization of the intangible heritage of rural and ancestral Morocco, of which oral tradition is the most symbolic aspect.

This project was initiated by the inhabitants of the ksar with the active and sustainable support of the Moroccan NGO WE SPEAK CITIZEN.

Activities

A themed audio and visual exhibition.
A documentary collection.

Access

By car :
- From Ouarzazate, take the road to Marrakech.
- At the Tabourahte douar, turn right at km 22.
By taxi :
- From Ouarzazate, go to the bus station and take a shared taxi to the Tabourhate douar (fare: 10 Dhs per seat).
- At the Tabourahte douar, take another shared taxi (fare Dhs 6 per seat).
